Synopsis

Mediocre Movies Presents…Fast and the Furious

This is a mediocre film I hold near and dear to my heart. Fostered by a highly embarrassing teenage obsession with Japanese imports, Fast and the Furious was everything drivers licenseless 16 year old me could have ever hoped and dreamed for.

Not even the awful acting, moronic plot, laughable characters or cringe-inducing dialogue could distract from the explosions and fast, shiny cars. And that basically sums up the film experience – you’ll watch for the impressive stunts performed in gorgeous, noisy and expensive motorised carriages and resign yourself to either snoozing or guffawing when the characters interact with one another.

Watch this Mediocre Movie if…you have a soft spot for cars, enjoy tacky action flicks, enjoy looking at Vin Diesel’s head or enjoy lots of vrooming and testosterone-fuelled trash talking. It’s also an entertaining way to see how the many, many sequels developed their consistent tonal template.
